Easily Forgotten Maintenance Tasks Check for High Water Pressure

Is your water pressure high up on your home maintenance checklist? If you said no, then you are like a lot of homeowners. Water pressure doesn’t tend to come up until there is a problem.

Why Check for High Water Pressure

By checking for high water pressure, you can avoid harm to your pipes, appliances and other connection. It’s a quick check, and if you do have high pressure, then it’s an easy fix, too. Some homes have pressure-reducing valves near the shut-off valve, but not all. For those homes that don’t or for homes where the valve is old and non-functioning, a new pressure-reducing gauge can be installed. Proper water pressure prolongs the life of your pipes and avoids water damage due to ruptures.
